Planning for next year’s international calligraphy conference is well underway! As many of you know, summer conferences are an excellent way to immerse yourself in the art of calligraphy while learning from incredible teachers. Faculty chair Erika Paulsen has asked us to share an invitation for experienced calligraphy teachers who may be interested in submitting a proposal to teach at the conference.
The conference will be held June 24-July 1, 2017 in Ogden, Utah at the Weber State University campus. There are a few spots open on the faculty, and experienced teachers are invited to propose either 2.5 or 5-day classes for a total of 30 hours of instruction time. The conference planning committee is open to all different calligraphy styles, treatments, and techniques that might be interesting to calligraphic artists. Interested teacherswill be asked to submit a short bio, explanation of the class, and up to 4 pictures- 2 of their best-known works and 2 specific to the class they intend to teach. The deadline for the open call is April 30th. The website address is: http://letterworks.org/home/call-for-proposals.
