Enchanting Decorating with Phawnda Moore

Halloween is right around the corner, and we couldn’t resist sharing this fantastic project idea from one of our favorite customers, Phawnda Moore! While we do not have DecoColor markers in our inventory, our sister company Marker Supply does, and you can link directly to what Phawnda recommends in her instructions below. As an added bonus, use the coupon code “Phawnda” for 10% off your order from Marker Supply!

Please share photos with us of any gourds, squash, or pumpkins you create this fall. We love creative lettering projects!

Here’s a fun project for fright night!

On graph paper, draw hat designs. Put rinsed and dried butternut squash in a cardboard box, if necessary anchor w/bubble wrap. Carefully looking at your sketch, redraw on squash with DecoColor pens. Nice to have both extra fine and medium points, and especially nice to have metallic! Acrylic water-based markers are good for lettering.

These pens layer well, so you can write or design on top of previous colors. Touch paint to surface rather than in wide strokes. Secure a pretty bow and admire!

I’ll be posting more holiday projects on my Facebook page: Calligraphy & Design by Phawnda.
